Meeting for Members:

In accordance with Article 9 of it's constitution, the Institute shall hold an Annual General Meeting at which subjects on the Agenda and the annual accounts shall be presented and discussed. Officers and members of the Executive Committee shall be elected as necessary for the respective periods of office.

IICMS 5th Annual Scientific AGM

Conference will take place on Saturday 21st of March 2009, in the Maldron Hotel, Tallaght. The Maldron Hotel offer free underground parking to all those attending the conference.

As per our online poll the theme of this years meeting is "The Obese Patient".

Our guest speaker for this meeting is Mr. RC Stuart. Mr. Stuart is a General Surgeon, with a special interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery and has been a consultant in Glasgow since 1995. His major clinical interests include Bariatric surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, anti-reflux and gallbladder surgery, Barrett’s oesophagus and upper GI cancer. Mr Stuart has expertise in minimally invasive endoscopic and laparoscopic procedures. He is an international expert in upper GI surgery and has published over 70 original articles. His main research interests include Barrett’s oesophagus, quality of life after surgery, mucosal cancer treatment and obesity surgery.

It’s that time of year again with the IICMS AGM coming up and we are looking for clinical measurement professionals to come forward and present at our AGM.

If you have an interesting case study or a piece of research you would like to present, now is your chance.

Platform presentations are typically 20minutes long and are presented in MS Power Point. A laptop will be provided on the day or you can bring your own. IT support will be available on the day.

If you don’t like the idea of getting up on the podium perhaps a poster would be more your scene. Posters again, can be illustrating an interesting case study, piece of research or a new and innovative way to get the most out clinical measurement studies.

If you would like to present a platform or poster presentation please download and fill in the abstract form and send to wriordan@mater.ie or info@iicms.org before 7th March 2009 or as soon thereafter as possible.
